To replace the Dell  725-10127 projector lamp

Before replacing the Dell  725-10127 projector lamp be sure to turn the projector off and disconnect from the AC plug. Let the projector cool down for at least 30 minutes. It should be cool to the touch. Don’t attempt to change the lamp when the projector is still hot as there is a good chance you can get severely burned.

  • Place the Dell 7609WU on a soft surface and turn in upside down to access the lamp cover. Loose the two screws that hold the projector lamp cover in place.
  • Loosen the two screws that secure the projector lamp.
  • Pull the projector lamp up by its metal handle. Pulling too quickly can cause the bulb to shatter. Learn what to do should the bulb shatter.  NOTE: Don’t throw the Dell  725-10127 into regular garbage! Since it contains mercury, this lamp must be properly recycled.
  • Install the new projector lamp.
  •  Tighten the two screws that secure the projector lamp.
  • Replace the projectorlamp cover and tighten the two screws.

You are now ready to reset the lamp timer.

Resettting the projector lamp counter

  • To access the MAIN Menu press the left or right buttons on your projector’s control panel or remote control.
  • Scroll over the the LAMP submenu. Press ENTER to access.
  • Press the up or down keys on your projector’s control panel or remote control to scroll down to LAMP RESET.
  • Scroll over to YES. Press ENTER.

Extend Dell  725-10127 projector lamp life by using some of the options on the LAMP MENU:

POWER SAVING: Set the time the projector waits without an input signal. If there is no signal, the projector will go into power saving mode. The projector will turn back on automatically when it detects and input signal. After two hours of being in power saving mode without a signal, it turns off. The default setting for the Power Saving delay is 12o minutes. However, you can set it to 5, 15, 30, 45, 60, or 120 minutes.
ECO MODE: When on the lamp operates at a lower power level that prolongs the lamp life. Select off to operate at the 300 Watts power level.
QUICK SHUTDOWN: Select Yes to turn off the projector with a single press of the Power button with accelerated fan speed.
