The HD-52Z585 is a 52” widescreen high definition TV set from JVC. The rear projection set uses the high acclaimed LCOS technology or the D-ILA technology as JVC like to call it. The D- ILA technology uses a three chip system. The HD-52Z585 has an extremely thin profile as it weighs around 84 pounds and is just over 16 inches (16.25 inches to be precise). The set has a native resolution of 1280 X 720 at 720p and 1080i with a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9 which is useful for viewing widescreen videos and movies.

The D-ILA technology can be said to be an upgraded version of the LCOS technology. It is basically a intermediate technology of the DLP and the LCD. The use of D-ILA technology eliminates the hazards of convergence issues or image burn in etc. The set offers high resolution images with highly rich and deep colors. It also produces amazing contrast ratios but struggles slightly with black levels. The Natural Cinema 3:2 pulldown correction offers extremely sharp and smoothly flowing videos or movies even from low quality input sources.

The Natural Progressive Line Doubling feature doubles the horizontal and vertical lines leading to four times the resolution. The Digital Noise Clear Circuitry accurately clears a any noise that is produced. The speakers fitted at the front of the cabinet offer excellent sound quality along with surround sound capabilities.
