The ASK Proxima SP-LAMP-013 has between 1500 to 2000 hours before it will need to be replaced. The number of hours depends on how much the projector is used and whether regular maintenance is done. When there are only 50 hours of lamp life left, a “Change Lamp” message will appear on screen every time the projector is turned on until the ASK Proxima SP-LAMP-013 has been changed. At the same time, the ED light on top of the projector will start blinking red.
Always invest in an authentic ASK Proxima SP-LAMP-013. While the generic knock-off may be appealing for their lower prices, they actually are not good value. These lamps are not made according to proper specifications and the inferior, ill fitting parts can damage the sensitive mechanisms in your projector. These copy-cat lamps also give poor illumination, have a shorter life, are prone to explosions and are filled with highly toxic materials that are dangerous to your health. Your warranty is void after you install a generic lamp and you’ll have no recourse or money back should your projector be damaged. Go with authentic and protect your health as well as the health of your projector. Read more about spotting counterfeit lamps.
