The JVC HD-61G787 is 61” high definition TV using JVC’s D-ILA technology. D-ILA technology is like an upgraded version of the LCOS and is an intermediate between the DLP and LCD technology. The set is very slim and compact because of this technology and is just 18 5/8” deep. The set weighs in at 95 pounds which makes it easier for installation even in complex areas. The cabinet has been exquisitely designed to give the set an elegant look. The cabinet is black in color and is very thin which makes the screen look deceptively small.

The set has a native resolution of 1280 X 720 and all input signals are displayed at 720p. The three line digital comb filter is equipped with JVC’s cross color elimination function is used to clear the picture by removing any visual interferences. The colors produced by the JVC’s optical engine are rich, deep and vibrant. The brightness levels of the JVC HD-61G787 are also quite good. The contrast ratios produced by the set are fantastic but the black levels are slightly disappointing. The use of LCOS technology eliminates the issues of image burn in or convergence.

The two built in speakers have a total output of 20 watts (10 X 2) which gives the user excellent sound quality along with the stunning video. The speakers have been discretely placed inside the cabinet at the bottom of the screen. The speakers can also be used to provide surround sound effects. The universal remote control has backlit buttons makes it easy to use in the dark.
